Massachusetts Tests for Teacher Licensure (MTEL)

COMMUNICATION AND LITERACY SKILLS TEST (CLST)

There are 2 subtests, reading subtest and writing subtest.
One can take both subtests at once or one subtest at a time.
We suggest that incoming early childhood, elementary, and special education majors
take the practice subtests (
reading practice subtest; writing practice subtest)
and then take the CLST
as soon as they possibly can.
One does not need to be a college student to take this test.
