Welcome to the Faculty Center for Professional Development and Curriculum Innovation at Curry College!

Opened in September of 2011, the launch of the Faculty Center has been made possible through the generous support of both the President and Trustees of Curry College and a grant from the Davis Educational Foundation, which was established by Stanton and Elisabeth Davis after Mr. Davis's retirement as chairman of Shaw's Supermarkets, Inc.

We invite you to browse the links here to find out more about our people, programs, and facilities.

The Faculty Center is located at 65A Atherton (#36 on the map).  Main number: 617.333.2101, email: facultycenter@curry.edu

Our mission is to engage faculty in diverse and effective professional development experiences, in anticipation of and response to faculty and institutional goals. We do this by offering the following programs, services, and initiatives to Curry College faculty:

  • Collaborative consultations with faculty on innovative approaches to teaching, research/scholarship, service, and leadership.

  • On-site opportunities to explore and learn (including emergent technologies), collaborate (in flexible, multi-use spaces), and explore (through both structured and open time).

  • Dissemination and networking of effective faculty practices and new ideas among individuals, academic areas, the College, and the Higher Education community.

  • Ongoing assessment of our effectiveness through multiple sources and kinds of evidence to improve and shape future work of the Center.

Elements of our Vision for the Faculty Center:

  • Centrality:

At the heart of faculty work/life, and at the heart of the campus, we are an open resource and point of connection for all faculty, both in person and virtual.

  • Integration:

Providing a context of support for long-term, personalized professional growth and integration across multiple domains of faculty work, within and outside of the classroom, we offer a "third place" where achieving strategic objectives though new curricula and fostering learning go hand-in-hand.

  • Evidence:

Grounding programs and processes in thoughtful analysis of evidence, we regularly draw upon research on best practices, student data, learning outcomes assessment, and assessment of what we do.
