Center for Career Development

Marketing & Events Intern

The Center for Career Development at Curry College is seeking a creative, detail-oriented student with strong communication and graphic design skills to assist with the marketing and support of office related events. The intern will gain valuable experience while working on a variety of projects involving social media, material design, event planning and execution as well as various marketing activities. The intern will also be on the "forefront" of marketing all events and new initiatives during the semester months. A strong commitment to working events outside of specific hours is preferred

 

Office of Continuing Education and Graduate Studies

Marketing Intern

Description: Responsibilities will focus on marketing activities and events that promote Curry’s Division of Continuing and Graduate Studies, which include proofing and editing marketing collateral, drafting and creating Constant Contact emails, reviewing and updating the website, assisting with market research/student surveys, internal data mining and analysis, and assisting with event planning. 

Qualifications: Minimum GPA: 3.0 or above preferred. Preferred Majors: Curry senior with major in Management with Marketing Concentration or Communications

 

Early Childhood Center

World Languages Internship

Description: The intern would create a program to begin to teach a world language (preferably Spanish or French) to the preschool students at the Curry Early Childhood Center. The intern would create short weekly lessons, as well as provide classroom materials that would expose the children to another language through a combination of print and electronic materials.

Qualifications: Must be proficient in language to be taught. Organized, attention to detail, and good communication skills. Must be personable and able to work with small children.

Marketing Intern

Description: The intern will evaluate and assess the different ways that the Curry Early Childhood Center presents itself to the College Community as well as our neighbors in Milton. The intern would conduct market research and make suggestions for ways to improve brochures and enrollment process. They will also assist in marketing strategies with web, print, and other materials.

Qualifications: Strong communication skills. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Experience in designing and creating marketing materials. Management/Marketing/COM/Design classes preferred. Graphic design/web experience is a plus!

Artist In Residence

Description: The intern would complete a semester as "artists in residence" at the Curry Early Childhood Center with a focus on exposing children to one of the visual or performing arts. The intern would create lessons for children, using knowledge of the art medium as well as developmentally appropriate practice for young children. An art show or performance for parents would be included.

Qualifications: Concentration in visual arts or dance preferred. Ability to work with small children. Organization and strong communication skills.

Fitness Center

Fitness Center Intern

Description: The Fitness Center Intern will be responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of Curry College strength training orientations and fitness programming.

Duties include:

·         Conduct weekly strength training orientations to Curry College students.

·         Assist with programming and marketing monthly fitness programs.

·         Assist with programming and marketing semester long fitness programs.

·      Semester project - create, market and promote one single event as determined and approved by the Associate Director of Recreation & Fitness.

Qualifications: Candidates must be a currently matriculated Curry College student in good standing with the college. Have the ability to work approximately 10-12 hours per week.  Candidates must have a passion for fitness, health & wellness. Health Majors are preferred.

Recreation Marketing Intern

Description: The Recreation Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting with the marketing and advertising of the Curry College Recreation & Fitness Department.

Duties include:

·         Oversee, develop and expand the social media outlets for the recreation department.

·         Create and manage department promotions both internal & external.

·         Research and implement new strategies for campus marketing.

Qualifications: Candidates must be a currently matriculated Curry College student in good standing with the college. Have the ability to work approximately 10-12 hours per week.  Management and Communications majors are preferred. 

 

Instructional Technology/Faculty Center

Technology Assistant Intern

-Assist training team in the development of e-learning programs for both faculty and students 

· Review learning objectives and content materials obtained from subject matter experts 

· Collaborate in developing overall instructional concepts 
· Build storyboards to sequence instruction and plan the technology work 
· Identify options for integrating Web 2.0 into individual projects 

· Use software applications such as using Viewlet Builder, Audacity, Dreamweaver, Flash, Blackboard, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office to create draft and final instructional materials 

 

Dean’s Office/Institutional Research

Institutional Research Intern (2 openings)

The Institutional Research Intern position is a part-time, unpaid educational opportunity. Institutionally, the position supports the College’s efforts to develop and manage institutional research products. Educationally, the position offers interns the opportunity to gain project management, research design, analytical, and presentation skills through hands-on experience in assessment and statistical analysis activities. It will also offer interns the opportunity to develop and/or refine skills in survey, statistical analysis, and database software.

Student Activities Office

Spring Weekend Intern

The Student Activities Office Spring Weekend Intern will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of Spring Weekend. Duties include:

·         Create and implement a marketing strategy for Spring Weekend

·         Coordinate the overall schedule of events with members of the committee

·         Facilitate regular Spring Weekend Committee Meetings

·         Communicate regularly with committee regarding deadlines, needs, updates, etc.

·         Meet regularly with Associate Director of Student Activities for updates and guidance

 

Office of Institutional Advancement/Marketing Communications

Marketing Intern

Complete a comprehensive review of schools which offer programs competitive with Curry’s Continuing Education and Graduate Studies Division through phone, web, and personal research. Expected project deliverable at end of semester will be a written report including an overview of competitor schools, highlighting changes in the competitive environment since the last report (if any).  Data entry, filing, copying, mail distribution, faxing, answering telephones, campus errands, other projects and general duties as specified by office staff.   Maximum 8-10 hrs./wk.

Marketing/PR Intern

Complete assorted marketing communications projects as they become available, including writing press releases, interviewing subjects and writing news and feature articles for the Curry website and Curry Magazine.  Data entry, filing, copying, mail distribution, faxing, answering telephones, campus errands, other projects and general duties as specified by office staff may also be assigned. Student must be dependable, with attention to detail and good communication skills.  Microsoft Office and Excel experience required. Approximately 8-10 hrs./wk.

Photography Assistant Intern

Photograph various campus activities and events and provide images for marketing communication use in print publications, social media, and on the website.  Student must possess own digital photography equipment. Assist the staff photographer and communication department staff by coordinating pre-photo shoot arrangements, photo editing, processing and organizing images for print and web publications including print scans and digital image manipulation for archiving.  Student must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with a working knowledge of the fundamentals of photography.  Must be available for some evening and weekend assignments. 8-12 hrs./wk. preferred

Publications Intern

Provide graphic design and/or production assistance on a variety invitations, flyers, brochures, posters, etc.  Student must have experience working on a Mac and basic knowledge of QuarkXPress 9 or above.  Knowledge of Photoshop Version  CS5.1 and InDesign. For-credit positions require approx. 12 hrs./wk.  Non-credit, approx. 10-12 hrs./wk.

Video Intern (2)

Assist in the shooting and editing of marketing videos for the Curry College website (www.curry.edu) and various other outlets, including social media.  Student must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, along with experience shooting HD video and editing with Final Cut software.  Must be available for some evening and weekend assignments. Maximum 8-12 hrs./wk. Great opportunity for communication majors!

Web Intern

Assist in the auditing of the Curry College website (www.curry.edu) content and make text, photo and video updates as assigned using the Ingeniux content management system (training will be provided). Maximum 8-12 hrs/wk
