SAFETY AND SECURITY
A Community Responsibility

It is the responsibility of the College and its employees to ensure that its educational programs and other activities protect and promote the health and safety of our students, our employees, and the environment. A safe and healthy place to work, learn and live is more than an expectation it is the goal that we must all strive to maintain.

Public Safety offers a number of training sessions throughout the year to address community awareness and safety, including visiting each department to present the video "When Lightning Strikes" to address what to do if a shooter is on campus.  This video is accessible via the following direct link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwtITDwYpg4

For more information about the safety and security policies and practices of the College please visit the Public Safety website at http://www.curry.edu/resources-and-services/student-services/safety.html

UNLAWFUL DISCRIMINATION AND HARASSMENT
Curry's Commitment to Prevention and Education
The College is undertaking a number of prevention and educational efforts as part of our commitment to the safety, well-being, success and equal opportunity for all our staff, faculty, and students. The College is committed to:
For additional information including Title IX Coordinator information, reporting contacts and responsibilities, please review the flyers below.

NOW OFFERING AN IMPORTANT RESOURCE THAT ALL MEMBERS OF THE CURRY COMMUNITY SHOULD ACCESS:
Title IX of the Civil Rights Act requires that the College provide training on sexual assault and harassment procedures to all staff and faculty members.  We therefore ask that you take the time (approximately 45 minutes, which can be started and stopped as time permits) to complete an on-line training.  This training was developed by our liability carrier, United Educators, and was selected and successfully "beta-tested" last semester by a number of staff and faculty members here at Curry.

Our goal is to have all members of our community participate in this brief online course, "Preventing Workplace Harassment".  This will be another important step towards building an inclusive Curry community that is free from harassment and discrimination.

To access the course:
You will need to follow the web link in step one below that brings you to UE's Learning Management System (LMS) and our institution's registration code that validates your eligibility to take the course. Once the registration code is accepted, you can register for and take the "Preventing Workplace Harassment" course by selecting the one that is appropriate for your role here at the college (Faculty, Staff, etc.).  Click here for a helpful overview of how to access and register for the United Educators LMS course.

Please follow these instructions to access UE's online course*:

  1. Click on the link, https://elearning.ue.org/

  2. First-time users select the link on the right side of the screen to create a new account
*Use this institution registration code: 0585-SC37-XY12
*Provide specific information about your role at the institution and then create a username and password
  1. Use your username and password each time you log in to the system using the link provided in Step 1 above

  2. Select the "Preventing Workplace Harassment" course by selecting your correct college role under the course name (Faculty, Staff, etc.)

  3. Begin the course with Module 1, "Introduction"

  4. Once completed with all modules please select "certificate" link to print your certification of completion. This action will trigger a completed status in the system for you. (This link can be found at the end of the module menu).

*Please note: if a user already has a UE issued website account they do not need to use the registration process outlined above as they already have admittance to the courses as part of that access level.  Access is granted through the "Learn@UE" tab of the website www.ue.org<http://www.ue.org by selecting the online courses link.

Additional course information:
Typically the course takes about 30-45 minutes to complete. You may log on from any computer at any time. If you need to stop, you can log back in, and the course will resume where you left off.  At various times the course will recommend that you refer to the College's anti-harassment policy. You can access the full policy above or by clicking the following link: https://my.curry.edu/c/document_library/get_file?uuid=59f07bd8-d09e-4142-9040-3d6e4148449b&groupId=10217.
