Choosing A Major Choosing a major can be stressful and overwhelming in your early college years. Here are some ways to get you on the path to exploration:
Ask Yourself: -What are your interests? What are you good at? What classes do I enjoy the most? Assessments: A career assessment can help you explore new opportunities and career options as well as gain insight into your skillset and personality. (See the assessment tab for options) Meet with a Counselor: -Talk one-on-one with a career counselor and further explore your skills, interests, values, and options. Explore: -Review the Curry College Course Catalog & highlight the majors and courses that are of interest to you. -Meet with an Academic Advisor to help plan/prepare your schedule and coursework for the upcoming semester. -Use the "What Can I Do With My Major" packet for job and career insight. Get Involved: -Join on-campus clubs and organizations related to your academic interests and hobbies. -Seek internship and volunteer opportunities. -Gain experience by working a part-time or on-campus job as well as plan to work during the summer months. |
